Studies Have shown that Greenboard, or MR (moisture resistant) board, are really no more effective than standard drywall, unless covered with tile. However, if tile were to be installed, cement board is a MUCH better backer. Bottom line, save your money and install standard drywall. If you are looking for an upgrade, use 5/8″ firecode X drywall, especially on the ceiling, and use a good mildew resistant paint over a quality primer. Hope this helps.
