I am organizing travel to China with a group that will include some UCSF students/faculty/staff and some family members and friends. Do any of these travelers need to sign a waiver form?
[Top] Non-UCSF staff or faculty participating in a trip for recreational purposes should sign a UCSF waiver form releasing UCSF from responsibility in the event of an accident or injury. However, those staff/faculty/students conducing work-related activities as the primary reason for travel should NOT sign waiver forms, since staff or faculty traveling for legitimate UC business reasons are considered in the course and scope of employment while traveling. If members of the trip party are going to conduct both work and non-work related activities and are not sure whether to sign waivers, please feel free to contact us for a consultation. • Why does UC require out-of-state and foreign travelers to register their trips on-line before leaving? [Top] Together with the new UC Business Travel Accident Insurance Program, the on-line trip registration system provides peace of mind for UC business travelers, saves time and expense, and ultimately improves UC’s ability to respond to the emergency
