Firstly, let me say that the milage is acceptable for an automatic and for running around in the city. But I agree that it could be slightly better ( 850 km to the tank). You have done many good things for your engine already. Make sure you have the correct tire pressure. If it has not been done yet, you may want to look into changing the timing belt, usually that should be done at about 120.000km I believe. Check your owner’s manual or phone a dealer. You also might have to replace the glow plugs sooner or later. At my previous Jetta I had to do that at about 180.000 km. Starting problems can be one indication that the glow plugs need attention. Getting back to you driving, if possible take it on a longer highway trip once in a while. Running the motor for a longer time at hwy speed will heat it up sufficiently to burn up the carbon built up.
