Packaging is a real personal preference thing – it’s one of the ways that you can distinguish your soaps from others right off the bat (without using the bar) so you definitely want to pick a method that best reflects your personality and the look and feel that you want to convey for your soap. Cloth bags let the soap “breath” and release the smell better than cello bags. Also, cello bags sometimes get “skid” marks from the soap so many people double wrap their soap – one layer in shrink or saran wrap and then put that in the cello bag. That’s difficult to smell through (the two layers). However, cloth bags are often expensive and they don’t showcase the look and texture of your soap since you can’t see through them. Cello bags definitely win out in the price category but again, there is the possible added work with double wrapping that may negate the cheaper price.
