You may submit the DARS3911 form with payment for the five-year renewal fee before the expiration of the valid through date printed on your certificate card. On the form you are asked to verify that you’ve passed the TEP. If you have not, you must complete a DARS3908 form and TEP fee to accompany the DARS3911 form and 5-year renewal fee. For the performance test if you currently hold a Level I or Level II certification you may apply for the Basic or Advanced performance test. If you hold Level III, IV or V, you may apply for the Advanced or Master performance test. However, we do not recommend attempting a higher level when you are at the end of the certification cycle because if you aren’t successful in passing then your certification expires and you become “inactive”. More information is available in Chapter 1 of the BEI policies Five-Year Certificate Renewal section.
