It depends on what you want to do in Penang. If you want to retire or use as a holiday home, the popular location for expatriates is in the coastal areas of Batu Ferringhi near the sea or in the Tanjung Bungah, but if you need to be near Georgetown then Pulau Tikus and Gurney Drive are prime locations. Gelugor & Bayan Baru is more preferred by those who work in the Bayan Lepas FIZ area which is near the Penang Bridge, airport and with easy access to Butterworth.
