I am installing iPrism in a network that has a firewall. Do I need to open any ports on the firewall?
For most installations, you only need to open port 80 for HTTP traffic. In some cases, you will also need to open TCP and UDP port 53 for DNS. In the event that you require troubleshooting assistance, a VPN session may be recommended by an iPrism support technician. To establish this VPN session with our server, port 25 must be open. If you want to manage the iPrism from a workstation outside your firewall, you will also need to open the following ports: TCP/1001 [Encrypted configuration protocol] TCP/4474 [SQL protocol] Furthermore, the IP address of the management workstation must be included in the co-management network range located on the Preference tab in the System menu.
