If you’re using Windows 95 OSR2 or Windows 98 boot diskettes and restoring logical FAT-16 or FAT-32 drives, you must make sure that the destination logical drive is formatted. It is not sufficient to create the partition using FDISK without formatting it afterwards. Note that this applies only to restoring logical (drive letters, not numbers) drives.
