Forgetting this part of your life would be nice, but no one has a magic bullet for it (though we’re working on it!). Pushing it away doesn’t work too well, because the symptoms seem to pop up at the most inappropriate times. Like there you are having dinner, and then you are on the floor crying your eyes out because something on your plate reminds you of that time. We wish there was a quick way, but this is like cleaning out gravel rash. You need to clean out the dirt and gravel and it hurts, but this is the best thing so that you heal with the least amount of scarring.
