I am divorced and have custody of the children from my marriage. What is required for them to accompany me to Canada?
You must submit evidence that you have legal custody of the children. In Turkey, you may submit the Family Census Register in which the divorce is recorded and the parental authority for the children is stated. For the children to accompany you to Canada, we also require the notarized consent of the non-custodial parent for the children to immigrate to Canada. This is to prevent the violation of any possible shared custody or visitation rights the non-custodial parent may have, and to ensure that the non-custodial parent is aware of the emigration of their children from Turkey.
