Q I am desperately looking for a sugar-free vegan yogurt. Know of any? Thanks!!!! A As far as I am aware there are no sugar-free, vegan yogurts on the market in Australia. Have you thought about making your own yogurt? You may have to start with some normal vegan yogurt to get a culture going, but you may then be able to slowly phase in an alternative sweetener to sugar. It might be worth checking out Easy-Yo yogurt making kits. Easy-Yo also have a soy-based yogurt packet mix available. I am not sure whether this is actually vegan and it probably contains sugar anyway, but you may be able to use it as a base/culture somehow. If you are wanting the yogurt for the benefit of the acidophilus, you can buy acidophilus supplements in powder form from health food shops. These are sugar-free and contain much more acidophilus per serving than yogurt. Other than that I can’t really help you as I don’t have any yogurt making experience.
