I am currently being prescribed Androderm patches 5mg/24hr daily dose. Do you know if the new testosterone injection Reandron 1000 provides the same amount of daily dosage as the patches?
Reandron 1000 offers about the same ‘level’ of testosterone replacement therapy as the patch. Because of the different way of administering it (into the muscle as compared to across the skin for the patch) the pattern of testosterone levels in the blood over time will be different. With the daily application of patches the levels of testosterone are quite stable, wiht the new injection there is a peak followed by a slow decline until the next injection approximately 12 weeks later. Of course the new injection is administered less often than the patches. The choice of testoserone preparation usually depends upon patient preference although sometimes there may be medical reasons as to why your doctor may recommend a particular form of testosterone therapy.
