In addition to supporting courses, the Heilbrunn Center occasionally asks students to assist in research projects, working directly with Professor Bruce Greenwald, the center’s Director. The center is continuously developing new opportunities for current students to interact with the talented alumni who work in investing, especially in smaller value-oriented firms. Many students work part-time at firms while in school to expand the learning outside of the classroom. We anticipate launching a mentorship program through which students will work directly with alumni and benefit from focused, one-on-one guidance • Students are encouraged to get involved in center-sponsored events, including speakers and conferences. • The Columbia Investment Management Association (CIMA) is a student-run group that hosts events and guest speakers; the club also provides access to recruiting, academic support and networking in the investment management field.
