I am concerned that my child is enrolled in a particular foreign language. What will the foreign language program look like at Ironwood Ridge?
A1. The enrollment numbers have been received. The total enrollment for both French and German was not sufficient to invest in both programs. In order to develop a solid foreign language program, it is essential to have a minimum of 30 students in a first year class in order to have the numbers to build a four-year program. The German program will not be started this year. The French program will be started. There were more students who were enrolled in French than German. Presently there are 42 students signed up for first-year French. In addition, the Advanced Placement program offers both a test in French Language and French Literature. In German, there is only a German Language test. As a result, there is greater college credit potential for French than German. There are several students that must take second year German. An effort will be made to accommodate those students at Canyon del Oro. Ironwood Ridge will also offer both regular and honors Spanish in the foreign language pro
