Make sure that Hidden Alias Files are NOT distributed with your application. They are created at run-time on the users system. There is only one exception: if you choose to use a Steganographic Alias File. If you do, this (bitmap) also must be distributed. We recommend for beginner users of SoftwareShield that you do not use steganographic alias files – thus simplifying things. This means you only have to distribute two things: 1) the ClientProtectorCOM.dll and 2) your compiled license file. (and optionally any steganographic alias files).
