Yes. Out-of-province farmers may also claim exemptions as a farmer by completing a Certificate of Exemption as a Bona Fide Farmer form (FIN 465). In the section requesting a folio number, you may simply state “Farmer” and indicate the province/state where your farm is located. Out-of-province farmers with farmland in British Columbia may also purchase coloured fuel for on-highway farm trucks if it is licensed as a farm vehicle under the Commercial Transport Act, and is being used by the farmer or another person in the operation of the farm.
