I am an individual physician. Can I delegate responsibility for completing the PECOS Web enrollment application?
Individual physicians and non-physician practitioners may delegate responsibility for completing the PECOS Web enrollment application to their office staff. However, CMS has confirmed that, regardless of who completes the PECOS Web application, the physician or non-physician practitioner assumes full and complete liability for the enrollment information that is transmitted once the MAC receives the signed and dated Certification Statement. In addition, the physician or non-physician practitioner is responsible for any unauthorized disclosure of information furnished for the Medicare enrollment process.
