I am an incoming Muslim student. How will I be able to observe Ramadan during New Student Orientation?
The College Programming Office is altering the Orientation schedule to the best of our abilities so students will not miss important programs in observance of Ramadan. Additionally, there will be returning students from the Muslim Students Association on hand throughout O-Week to support new Muslim students as they observe Ramadan during Orientation Week. Please visit http://msa.uchicago.edu to learn about programs and events sponsored by the Muslim Students Association. The Muslim Students Association (MSA) and Campus Dining Services work together to provide nightly Iftars for students observing Ramadan. The Iftars will be held in the Rockefeller Chapel Basement Prayer Space at 7:00 pm. Students interested in participating in the nightly Iftars should email the Office of Undergraduate Student Housing by September 1st at rooms@rh.uchicago.edu with complete name, ID number and contact information (with “Iftar” in the subject line of the message).
