I am an artist and would love to make a public art piece for Swindon. How do I got about it?
Artists are sought on a project basis in response to a specific commission. They would need to be able to respond to an artist’s brief and have the skills and experience required for the project. There are no public art grants or funding available for artists in Swindon and currently the only route is by being available to work in the above way. Public Art Swindon holds information of artists that work in the public realm so please send a CV and CD of your recent work and it will be held on file. However this does not guarantee you any work in Swindon. We may pass your name on to commissioners if your work relates to a specific type of project or scheme. It is a good idea to take advantage of other websites e.g. www.axisweb.org.uk to promote your work and also make sure you have your own site as increasingly the internet is used for research.
