The experience prerequisite and CNOR are waived for qualified advanced practice nurses.

AORN standards waive the experience prerequisite and CNOR for advanced practice nurses. However, nurse practitioners must be certified by the AACN, ANCC, AANP or an accepted national certification before graduation from the program.
