Glucosamine Sulphate has been shown to be non-toxic at the prescribed doses. Patients allergic or sensitive to sulfa drugs or sulfate containing food additives can safely take glucosamine sulfate. The word sulphate in this instance indicates the presence of mineral sulfur, not the sulpha compound used in sulpha drugs and sulphate-containing food addictives. All cells of the body contain the mineral sulphur and thus, it is not likely to be allergic to this mineral.
