I am age 65 [or older]. What are my options regarding health care if I retire?
A. Long Island University provides major medical coverage for its retirees through Cigna HealthCare. Retirees, their spouses and eligible dependents are covered under the major medical contract. To be eligible for coverage, an administrator must have 20 years of service if s/he retires at age 60 or 10 years of service if s/he works through age 65. A clerical employee must have 15 years of service if s/he retires at age 60. Coverage remains in effect for the lifetime of the retiree.
