I am a vested member considering leaving North Dakota. What are my options with my retirement account?
As a vested member, you have two options: 1) Take a refund of your account value. A refund can either be paid to you or rolled over to an eligible retirement plan. 2) Leave your money in TFFR and defer drawing retirement benefits. You can defer to the Rule of 85 Tier 1 member, Rule of 90 Tier 2 member, age 55, age 65, or any age in between 55 and 65. Deferred benefit estimates can be obtained by contacting RIO.
