I am doing this from memory so I am not sure if it is 100% correct and the information may not be up to date. As I remember it, you have to apply first for a six months’ temporary leave to remain WITHOUT the right to a work permit for your fiance. You have to get married within this six months and then apply for a further six months with a work permit. You have to provide the wedding certificate to get this. After the second six months, you can apply for a twelve month extension. At the end of this time, you can apply for permanent leave to remain. You will have to provide proof of your married life together; bank statements from a joint account, official letters addressed to you both etc. Sounds like a lot of work but you can do it through the post. You will have to google “IND” to find their website for more info.

You will now see what a terrible bunch the English really are. They haven’t a patch on South Africans. Take no notice of them. It will be best if you got married in SA but then he will have to remain there and apply from there. You need to prove your relationship, that you have a job and a home. The best thing is to download the forms from http://ukinsouthafrica.fco.gov.uk/en/vis… Present your application like a file with an index and each page numbered. A British citizen cannot marry whom they like anymore without first being vetted by our Government. It is very stringent so do not leave anything out. They deported my missus after 24 years marriage-she’s South African(British colony ba$tard child). But the discrimination she faces is embarrassing.I am utterley ashamed of these arrogant and ignorant twats on here. It takes literally 4 days usually-no jokes.Provided theres no problem.Good luck.
