Per OPNAVINST 1740.4B, paragraph 7.d. (6), your CO may administratively separate you using ADSEP procedures contained in the MILPERSMAN. CO’s of personnel with greater than 1 year of obligated service remaining or who possess critical skills must refer these cases to COMNAVPERSCOM PERS-8 for determination. The Detailers and ECM’s will determine whether or not to retain you on active duty till the end of your enlistment. If authorized to be retained, you will NOT be permitted to reenlist or extend without filing a valid Family Care Plan and receiving permission from PERS-8.
