Certainly. The value of InChI is outlined here in “Representation and use of Chemistry in the Global Electronic Age” – Peter Murray-Rust, Henry S. Rzepa, Simon M. Tyrrell and Y. Zhang. Nature Chemical Biology has recently adopted InChI and discussions are under way to use InChI as the chemical identifier in the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry (BJOC).
