I am a new undergraduate student (includes transfers). What happens if I don submit documentation of meningococcal immunization?
Meningococcal vaccination must occur 10 days or more in advance of arrival on campus. Unless this is done (and documented) then a student will not be permitted to move on campus. On the ESTHER system a “vaccination hold” indicates that we have not yet received appropriate documentation. Students not meeting the Health Data Form meningococcal vaccination requirements will NOT be able to move on-campus and will NOT be able to register for classes, however they are still required to participate in O-Week. Health Services has to received proof of the meningococcal meningitis vaccination at least 10 days before the August 15 move-in date. If they do not then Texas law prohibits students from moving into campus housing. Students will have to make other housing arrangements, at their own expense, until they meet the vaccination and 10-day waiting period. Fees associated with O-Week and housing during this time period will not be reimbursed.
