GCP is Good Clinical Practice training as it relates to clinical research trials. Clinical studies should be carried out according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) / WHO Good Clinical Practice standards. This provides a unified standard for the European Union (EU), Japan, and the United States, as well as those of Australia, Canada, the Nordic countries and the World Health Organization (WHO). Thus, any country that adopts this guideline technically follows this same standard. Canada has adopted ICH GCP. SJHH, HHS and McMaster University have also adopted ICH GCP for the conduct of all clinical research trials as evidenced by the Standard Operating Procedures for clinical research.
