I am a member of staff with a dependent relative who is unwell. What is the provision for carers at Kingston University?
In the first instance, contact your manager. There may also be work you can do at home if you are caring for someone. Kingston University supports all our staff in taking a reasonable amount of time off to deal with unforeseen situations involving a dependant, subject to management discretion. A dependant is the partner, child or parent of the member of staff, or someone who lives with them as part of their family. Most situations will require one or two days to resolve; in a given year no more than five days’ leave can be taken. This leave is paid and pro rata according to your FTE. HR policies are on StaffSpace.
