My brother did this when he was in high school as a way to earn extra money, so sure it is a great idea! It’s hard work, though. As for how much to charge, I really don’t know. Maybe you could charge an hourly rate on your first job to see how long it really takes you. Then however much your made on your first job, just charge that as a flat rate from then on. And no, using a shovel is pretty normal for someone your age.
