I already own a Ruger firearm. Can Ruger Custom Engraving Services engrave an existing firearm?
Ruger Custom Engraving Services can engrave a customer’s firearm, provided it is in good condition. If additional work is needed to repair your firearm prior to engraving, this will be quoted separately from the cost of embellishment. Ruger Custom Engraving Services may be able to embellish your rifle or shotgun, depending upon the level of engraving desired. Due to the temper (hardness) of some of the components used in Ruger rifles and shotguns, there are limitations to the level of engraving that can be performed on a completed firearm. Please contact Ruger Custom Engraving Services with specific questions regarding engraving an existing firearm. Any firearm already owned by the customer who has met all federal, state and local regulations regarding possession of the firearm can send the firearm directly to Ruger Custom Engraving Services for engraving. In this instance, for a gun already owned, it is not required to transfer through an authorized Federal Firearms License (FFL) hold
