Yes, if you own a tripod which is a professional one, capable of loading up to 12 lbs and is sturdy enough to stand on any weather condition, plus not wobbly legs, good size of metal quick release plate, it should do the work properly. Note a tripod with plastic pan head and quick release plate will not work.
