I already have a different BA or BS degree but want to teach Technology Education. How can SPC help me become a Technology Education teacher?
Florida has quick-entry programs to get you certified to teach Technology Education. You will need to pass the three Florida certification exams and have a background in one of the content areas to earn a temporary license. After this, teachers receive a Statement of Eligibility that generally gives them two years to take four technical courses and a methods class to earn their full professional license. The Technology Education program at St. Petersburg College offers courses that can help you prepare for the subject-area exam and meet the state’s requirements for a professional license. You may sign up for these classes as “non-degree seeking”. They are online, Saturday or traditional schedule classes. Contact Dr. Loveland for more information.
