Hows the best way to get my cucumber started to grow from seeds?
Plant it in a peat pot if you’re starting the seeds indoors. Cucumbers, squash, melons…all hate having their roots disturbed during transplanting, or anytime, really, and will likely croak if you have to move them from a plastic container. Peat pots can be planted right in the ground and will disenegrate over the season. I think you’re supposed to start seeds indoors about 6 weeks before the last frost in your area. I’d put your peat pot on a small plate or tray to catch the water and then cover te whole thing with an old zip lock or something plastic to keep the soil warm and the humidity in. I have a lot of success using heating pads for a bit every day to warm the soil and speed germination. Good luck.
