Hows it going to be competing with Kurt (Warner) and Jesse (Palmer) for the starting job?
That’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to compete for the starting job. I want to be the starter, if I don’t get it, I’m not going to whine and complain about it, I’m just going to keep working hard and prepare myself for later in the season, or the next game or next year or my future career as a Giant. I’ve got a lot of things to learn to get better and I’m going to try and do everything I can to reach that point. Are you approaching this like you’re the starter? Yes, I think so; the only way you can get better is to prepare to be the starter. If they tell you someone else is going to start the first game, it doesn’t change your preparation, you still go out there and treat practice like you’re a starter, and watch films like you’re a starter. The more you prepare for each game, on the sideline or taking a rep in practice, will help you to get better and make you a better player. Did you drive yourself up here? I did, by myself. How fast?
