How would you score ESPNs coverage of Nascar/Busch Series Events?
They pretty much showed they don’t understand the audience. Fox and their Speed channel do a MUCH better job. TNT does a much better job. ESPN may be “The Worldwide Leader In Sports”, but they tend to grab on to things after other networks make them popular, and fail to understand why people watched them on the channels that made them popular. Poker is a great example. I used to watch poker on The Travel Channel more than a few years ago. Now, it’s everywhere, and the simple fact remains that The Travel Channel coverage was still the best, much better than ESPNs for certain. Poor coverage. They need to talk to the people who watch the events as to why they watch the events, not some moron with a degree in marketing who “knows what they want”.
