How would you rate the performance of the current states attorney: excellent, good, fair or poor?
Why? Doug Gansler has done a good job as State’s Attorney especially with his appointment of Assistant State’s Attorneys who are excellent and dedicated prosecutors. Given the broad power a state’s attorney has to initiate grand jury investigations and determine criminal charges, what do you see as the most important character trait of the county’s top prosecutor? The most important traits for State’s Attorney must be integrity, fairness, and professional competence. The State’s Attorney must vigorously prosecute the guilty and defend the innocent. Do you believe the state’s attorney should speak out publicly in cases where prosecutors strongly disagree with a judge’s sentence? When I disagree with a Judge, I will merely state that I disagree with the Judge and if allowable, I will appeal the decision. No further comment is appropriate.
