How would you describe the time period in which t.s. eliot lived?
Born 1888 and died 1965. He lived through two World Wars and was certainly shaped a great deal by the first one as his most active periods of writing were between the wars. There was a depression, an upsurge of both socialism and fascism that contrasted with his christian faith.
