From physical equipment like safes, strong room doors, fire-resistant filing cabinets and safe deposit vaults, the Indian market place is slowly waking up to the need of having electronic systems to tackle the ever- increasing crime rates. As far as the role of Godrej goes, it has been a pioneer in the security equipment business for the last 100 years, striving hard to live up to its motto of ‘Guardian of Nation’s Wealth’. • What sort of client base do you have ? Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, in fact, almost all nationalised banks and newly-established private banks as well as many foreign banks source their requirements of security equipment from Godrej. • What is the future of the security industry? Very exciting. The focus is slowly shifting from physical security to electronic security products. The general awareness of security products is also on the rise.
