How would you define Aklesia as a gathering place?
Kei: I’m that guy who takes the time to define my thoughts. But I realize ten other thinkers would probably define Aklesia in a different way. The journey through the last 18 months started as Nate and I talked about different aspects (artists, athletes and musicians) and our shared common interests discovered while working together at Nike. We both respected each other’s work and we shared a love for surfing, snowboarding and music. We don’t often think about it, but a gathering of friends happens because we gather around shared interests. As Nate and I began this journey we asked the question: if we could do anything…what do we love more than anything? I love design and sport and I grew up with hopes of either being a professional golfer or basketball player. It was our shared love of design that opened up the creativity in us.
