Obviousy we know that Fungi are neither plant nor animal,before this, -they were classified in kingdom PLANTAE.that is the first classification of fungi and it is because they contained a cell wall like plants but anfortunately the two cell wall differ by contents which segregate fungi frm plants. -Also they can be Animals in the other hand because their cell wall is made up of cellulose.i.e ANIMAL KINGDOM. -Third classification they are the FUNGI as fungi because they are neither plant nor animal have their own features like the pocession of CHITINIOUS cell wall.KINGDOM FUNGI -Also some are reffered as the “FUNGI like protists” these are not true fungi such as the slime moulds and water moulds these are classified in the kingdom PROTISTA.So if you want to classify into three you can clasify even into four KINGDOMS…
