How would World Federalist principles change the distribution of power in the current international system?
World Federalists view the current international system as giving too much power to the national states and not enough to the more local and international ones. As Canadian scholar Hannah Newcombe describes it, “What needs to be done is to de-emphasize the national level of decision-making and draw power from it in two directions: downward to the people at the grassroots level and upward to the whole of humanity everywhere, in fact to the whole living Earth.
