In the present arrangement of the buildings we actually have extra space in both buildings. In the high school we used to have three additional grade levels 6-8 occupy the same space that now houses 9-12. In the PK-8 facility the building was built to hold four sections at each grade level and each year we have had several extra classrooms. The total square footage in the district now is 229,000 and in the proposed arrangement there would be 207,000. In addition we would be eliminating some duplication of classes like band and vocal music where with the two sites we presently have two teaches and four classrooms.
