How would the really big earthquake affect Los Angeles?
Californians born and raised there know the severity of an earthquake having drills in school. Having grown up there, I experienced quite a few and they are frightening. Anyone that lives near the Saint Andreas fault takes the risk of the damaging effects more than anyone else which will be horrific. Yes, I believe your geography teacher is correct as are many other experts saying it is a lion getting ready to roar, it is bound to happen and when it does, it conceivably could flatten miles upon miles of buildings and homes. Even though there are building codes and large office structures can only be a certain height when an earthquake is above 8.0 it doesn’t matter how structurally strong they are, they are going to go.
