How would the Israeli military fare against the Taliban?
The US Army – with stringent recruitment standards, comprehensive training, with the most advanced military equipment, satellite technology and Air Force back-up , commanded by top flight officers trained at West Point Military Academy – cannot BEAT the Taliban after SEVEN LONG YEARS. So the conscript army of Israel is likely to do worse. Israel used banned weapons two years ago in Lebanon. They used delayed cluster bombs – which are mines. They’ve left millions of the bomblets scattered over Lebanon – which children playing invariably find. Israel should have prosecuted for war crimes 2 years ago in Lebanon.
The Taliban, who overran most of Afghanistan in 1996, are a militia driven by an extremely harsh Medieval interpretation of Sunni Islam.
