How would the creation of the American Football League change the NFL and pro football in America?

This changed football because football players had a Option to go to the NFL or go to the AFL right after college. They didn’t just have to play for the NFL. The AFL also changed football because the AFL started passing a lot with teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers (now San Diego Chargers), and Kansas City Chiefs. In the NFL, teams would pass a little but run mostly. They added teams to the AFL something that the NFL didn’t want to do. Most importantly the AFL leader Lamar Hunt came up with the Super Bowl and he wanted to play the NFL in a big game every year. Lamar Hunt was a huge figure in American Football. Of course he went on to own the Dallas Texans (which we call the Kansas City Chiefs today).
