How would testicular and prostate cancer affect the males ability to father children?

Answer These are completely different cancers with completely different side effects. Testicular cancer generally does not have any affect on a man’s ability to father children. On the other hand, men who get TC tend to be a bit less fertile in the first place and all of the treatments associated with metastatic testicular cancer can reduce fertility or cause temporary infertility (or possibly sterility). Cancer in both testicles, which is rare, obviously causes sterility. Prostate cancer typically does not affect men of child bearing age. Removing the prostate removes the source of prostatic fluid, which is a major part of semen. Treatments are also associated with fertility or impotence problems. I am not really an expert on this, but generally speaking, i think there are more practical fertility issues with prostate cancer than testicular cancer. Final note – It’s not particularly meaningful in general, but all three of my kids were conceived after testicular cancer.
