Most cancers do not cause symptoms when they are in an early stage. Cervical cancer very rarely does colon cancer does sometimes. However, both of these cancers have screening exams. You should be having annual pap smears regardless of history and if you want to be on the safe side start colonoscopies in your forties or 10 years younger than your parent was when diagnosed with colon cancer, if one of them was. If you do this there is no reason to be afraid of either of these cancers.
