How would I start obtaining artwork licenses from Video Games companies for commercial use?
I am trying to find out what would be involved with obtaining artwork licenses for commercial use, from video games companies. Basically where would I start? I am based in the UK, but sell my video game related products world wide, and import from the U.S. I sell custom products designed to customers requests, and will be aiming to sell clothing in the future as well. As far as I am aware about UK laws, an individual can represent themselves in any way they wish, and so the use of one copyrighted image would not be an infringement on copyright laws, but I want to expand on this, and set up product lines for mass sale, and an artwork license appears to be my only valid route. What would a company, such as Microsoft Game Studios for example, require from me, or expect from me, as a proposal to obtaining an artwork license? Any help or advice on this matter would be appreciated.
