Step2 Plug in your iron so that it can be heating. Be sure to place the hot iron on a safe surface and not directly on your wood kitchen table. Step3 Locate the water stains that you are going to want to remove. Place the cotton cloth over the first stain that you will be working on. Smooth all the wrinkles out of the cloth. Step4 Place the heated iron directly on top of the cotton cloth, which is directly on top of your water stain. Move the iron back and forth, slowly and gently, to heat the entire area for a few seconds at a time. This procedure will need to be repeated over and over as you keep checking the appearance of the water stain to see if there is improvement.
